3. Rules and Regulations

  • Preliminary rounds use a round-robin format; each match is played to 25 points (maximum 25).
  • Finals use a rally-point system to 25 points (maximum 25); rules may be adjusted by the organizer.
  • Matches follow regulations of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and the Badminton Korea Association (BKA).
  • If a category has fewer than 4 teams, it will be merged with another age group (e.g., 20-29 merged with 30-34).
  • Round-robin in preliminaries; knockout format in finals.
  • Only the top team in each group advances to the finals.
  • Final brackets are randomly drawn (via a draw system).
  • Round-robin ranking criteria:
    • Teams are ranked by number of wins.
    • If two teams are tied, head-to-head result determines ranking.
    • If three or more teams are tied, ranking is determined by:
    • wins > point differential > total points scored > total points conceded > total team age (older team ranks higher).
    • No-show teams are recorded as forfeits. If a team withdraws during the tournament (including injury), all match results are recorded as 25:0.
    • Players who miss their first match may still play subsequent matches.
    • Injured players may receive brief medical attention (up to 3 minutes); deliberate delay or misconduct results in forfeiture.
    • Any player found fixing matches will be disqualified from all matches, including those not yet played.
    • After entering semifinals, the two winners from each bracket will play for first and second place. The two defeated participants from each bracket will tie for third place.
  • Mandatory advancement of level for future (2027) tournament based the number of participating teams:
    • First place winner amongst 4 to 8 participating teams.
    • First and second place winner amongst 9 to 21 participating teams.
    • First, second, and third place winner amongst 22 teams or more participating teams.
■ Seeding for Knockout Stage
  • Based on number of wins.
  • If two teams are tied, head-to-head result determines advancement.
  • If three or more teams are tied, seeding is determined by:
  • wins > head-to-head > point differential > total points scored > fewest points conceded > highest total team age.
  • Players absent in the first round-robin match may still play the second.
  • Injured players may receive emergency treatment; results remain valid.
  • Intentional injury or match manipulation is prohibited.
  • Wildcards may be used for three-tier teams to advance to semifinals.
  • Only first-place teams advance to finals.
  • After semifinals, winners compete for 1st and 2nd; losing semifinalists share 3rd place.
■ Round-robin Ranking (Additional Notes)
  • Rankings are based on number of wins.
  • If two teams tie, head-to-head result decides.
  • If three or more teams tie:
  • wins > head-to-head > point difference > order based on total team age.
